Lucy Helen (Shofner) Skaggs, 83, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2015) Mrs. Skaggs was a homemaker and matriarch of a large, well-respected family. She professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the Zion Separate Baptist Church. Mrs. Skaggs was the wife of Ernest Skaggs, Jr., who preceded her in death in February, 2006. She was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. There will be a funeral service for Mrs. Skaggs held at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY 42718 on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 10amCT/11amET. The Rev. Ronda Arnett will be officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 17, from 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET. Mrs. Skaggs will be laid to rest beside her husband, and will carried there by her sons. Mrs. Lucy Helen (Shofner) Skaggs, 83, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2015) She was born Sunday, September 13, 1931. She was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lillie Morning (Hedgespeth) Shofner. She died Saturday, February 14, 2015, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, five months, and one day of age. Mrs. Skaggs was a homemaker and matriarch of a large, well-respected family. She professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the Zion Separate Baptist Church.
