Elva Ethel Allen, 71, Hustonville, KY (1943-2015)

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. Elva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her family. She was the daughter of the late Freeman and Ora Scott Monday. Her husband of over 52 years. David Allen, survives. She leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Elva Ethel Allen of Hustonville, KY passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 71.

Funeral services are 12pmCT/1pmET. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Elder Raymond Burgess and Larry Crenshaw officiating. Elva Allen will be laid to rest in Whited Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Sara Turney, Dustin Hoover, Devan Hoover, Kevin Foley, Lee Monday and Shawn Monday.



Elva Ethel Allen, 71, Hustonville, KY (1943-2015)

Born November 25, 1943, in Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Freeman and Ora Scott Monday. She died Sunday, February 8, 2015, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 71 years, two months, and 14 days.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. Elva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elva loved her family.

Survivors include her beloved husband, David Allen, whom she married September 1, 1962, and the following:
  • A son: Jeffrey David (and Dallas) Allen of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Melanie Elva Arnold (and fiance' Bryan Muse ) of Keywest, Florida; and Angela Dawn (and David) Butler of Nicholasville, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Three great-grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Carl Monday and Randall Mondaym both of Liberty, KY

  • And a sister: Bootsie Foley of Liberty
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Elvena Shepherd.
