Dorothy Mae Curry, Russell Springs, KY (1932-2014)

She was born in Adair County, KY, and was a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Charlie & Ada England Taylor, and the widow of Leonard Earl Curry, She was the matriarch of a very large, highly regarded family. She leaves 81 direct living descendants spanning four generations. She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God.

Dorothy Mae Curry, 82, of Russell Springs, formerly of Columbia, died Tuesday, February 03, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Russell Springs, KY

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Collumbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, February 4, 2015.



Casket Bearers: D.J. Curry, Tony Streeval, Ricky Lynn Tucker, Gary Dale Curry, James Curry, Robert Curry, Joe Curry and Roger E. Harmon.


Dorothy Mae Curry, Russell Springs, KY (1932-2014)

She was born August 10, 1932, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Charlie & Ada England Taylor. She died Tuesday, February 3, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 82 years, five mohts, and 24 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Earl Curry on September 15, 1998, one son, Steve Curry, five brothers, Leonard, Raymond, Phillip, Gene & Sonny Taylor, one sister, Ruby Dial, and two grandchildren, Joey Wayne Curry & Hector Aaron Curry.

She was a member of Oak Grove Church of God and a homemaker. Survivors include:
  • Seven sons: Larry (Wanda), Jerry, Gary, Donnie (Janie), Dale (Jean) & Randy (Rosy) Curry all of Columbia, KY; & Mike (Shannon) Curry of Russell Springs, KY

  • Four daughters: Carolyn (Ricky) Tucker of Knifley, KY; Ruth Ann (Charlie) Streeval of Columbia, KY; Connie (Roger) Harmon of Russell Springs, KY; & Pam (Mitchell) Dial of Columbia, KY

  • Thirty-three grandchildren

  • Thirty-three great-grandchildren

  • Four great-great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
