Letter: Memories of Wendell Ford Roger D Smith DMD writes: Ed: The first time I met Sen. Ford it didn't take long for him to ask where I was from and did I know Grover Gilpin. I admitted I did, and he started with some phrases that only two old friends could share. His only request was that I tell Grover exactly what he said and to say hello. When I got home I did as he asked and to my suprise Grover repeated almost the same phrases back to me in referring to the Senator. I met him several times over the years and it amazed me that he remembered my name, but he never failed to ask about Grover. A very special friendship. --Roger D Smith DMDComments re article 72709 Remembering Sen Ford Misses already his wit common sense This story was posted on 2015-01-24 15:17:13
