He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Green County, KY, at the time of his death. He leaves four direct and one step living descendant.

James Ronald "Brownie" Abston, 67, formerly of Columbia, KY died Monday, January 19, 2015 at 5:20amCT, at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY.

Funeral service will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Michael Helm officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery Visitation after 5pmCT, Wednesday, January 21, 2015.



James (Brownie) Abston, Adair Co., KY (1947-2014)


He was born Tuesday, November 11, 1947, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Beecher and Nora Shearer Abston. He died Monday, January 19, 2015, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 67 years, two months, and eight days.

He was a former custodian for the Adair County School System and a painter.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Jackie & Timmy Abston both of Indiana

  • One step-son: Chad Perkins of Owensboro, KY

  • Four brothers: Charles “Granny” Abston, Paul Abston and Ricky Abston all of Columbia, KY, and David Abston of Indiana

  • Two grandchildren
