Annie Ernestine Pierce, Taylor Co., KY (1917-2015)

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Charles Reesor Pierce January 6, 1940. He preceded her in death December 5, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Robert Paxton and Lorena Sublett Paxton, and the widow of Charles Reesor Pierce. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Annie Ernestine Pierce, 97, of Campbellsville, KY died at 6:50amET, Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Campbellsville. KY.

The funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. J. Alvin Hardy. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Green County, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Annie Ernestine Pierce of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Robert Paxton and Lorena Sublett Paxton, was born October 29, 1917. She died Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 97 years, two months and 17 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Charles Reesor Pierce January 6, 1940. He preceded her in death December 5, 2004.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter: Charles Randall Pierce and special friend, Helen Case of Louisville, KY; and Marilyn Terry and husband, William of Paducah, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Gina Spurling Eagan and husband, Richard of Concord, North Carolina; Vernon O.C. Spurling, II of Taylorsville, KY; Cara Terry of Lexington, KY; and Amy Hutchinson and husband, Joe of Glasgow, KY

  • Three great-grandchildren: Sophie Hutchinson of Glasgow, KY; Lauren Lee and husband, Brandon of Concord, North Carolina; and Brandon Allen Bell of Columbia, South Carolina, KY

  • One great-granddaughter: Annabell Lee

  • Two sisters: Hazel Squires of Campbellsville, KY; and Willetta Dangerfield of Ft. Worth, Texas

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Henry Coleman Pierce and one brother and two sisters: Joseph Paxton, Mamie Davis and Carrie Biggs. Send a condolence to the family of Annie Ernestine Pierce
