Campbellsville Mayor Tony Young announced the resignation of Police Tim Hazlette on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Mayor Young acknowledged the work the 25 year veteran of the Kentucky State Police rendered, saying that Campbellsville is grateful for his dedication. "He will be truly missed," Mayor Young said.

From a personal standpoint, it was great to watch him in action. He'd park his police car and get out and walk the downtown, the neighborhoods, parks and shopping centers. He called it "Community Policing," It did so much to make good police/community relations even more.

Mayor Young said that the city is now accepting applications for Chief of Police. The deadline is January 16, 2015. Requirements include 10 years of experience in police work with several years of supervisory and managerial experience.
