Thanks from Adair County Service Unit of the Salvation Army The Adair County Service Unit of The Salvation Army sends thanks to the Adair Community for support of Christmas assistance programs By Debbie Cowan The Salvation Army Service Unit of Adair County would like to extend a huge thank you to the community for the continued support of Christmas assistance programs in Adair County. Because of your generosity, the Adair County Service Unit of The Salvation Army was able to provide Christmas gifts to over three hundred Adair County children through the Angel Tree Program and the Senior Angel Program assisted fifty-six elderly Adair County residents. We appreciate all who purchased gifts, made donations and assisted in other ways to make Christmas more joyful for individuals in this community. Thank you to our local church members who purchase gifts and to Trinity United Methodist Church for use of their space. We appreciate the Adair Gideon Camp for their support of Angel Tree and thank the local medical community for providing donations to the Senior Angel baskets. The Red Kettle Campaign had a record breaking year and collected more funds than ever before collected in the sixteen years that the unit has operated in Adair County. We appreciate Wal-Mart, IGA, Tractor Supply Company and Fiesta Mexico for allowing the Red Kettles and/or bell ringers at their locations. Thank you to the many folks that braved the weather to ring the bell and collect money. The funds that are collected stay in Adair County to help address needs of local individuals and provide services to our community. Any interested person is invited to join the Adair County Service Unit of The Salvation Army. We would love to have more members! Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 9:00 am in the basement of the Adair County Courthouse Annex on the Public Square in Columbia. For more information about The Salvation Army, contact Chairperson, Bro. Gerald Reliford at 270-250-2252. Thank you and God bless you for your love and compassion toward others.
