Joyce Coomer: Advice on gun safety Commentary about: The Christmases when nobody got shot on Jamestown Hill By Joyce Coomer Hmmm . . . seems no one ever told you the main point of marksmanship. ALWAYS be sure there is nothing behind (or near) what you're aiming at that you don't want to shoot.I've been handling guns since I was five or six years old. I wanted a BB gun but Daddy's philosophy was that I wouldn't respect a real gun if I started out shooting a BB gun so he taught me how to use the .22 rifle. I spent many hours practicing my marksmanship on vicious leaves and rocks and tin cans. I've been a fairly decent marksman most of my life. - Joyce M. Coomer This story was posted on 2014-12-25 11:12:36
