Mr. Vernon Orville Bryant of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Charlie Bryant and Mary Frances Brooks Bryant, was born on April 13, 1933 in Hart County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. He was 81 years, 8 months, and 8 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Vernon Orville Bryant will be conducted at 10amCT, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Bro. Cliffton Sullivan and Bro. Jeffrey Judd will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 3pm until 8pmCT, Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Wednesday until time of the funeral service.

He was 81 years, 8 months, and 8 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He was also a self-employed contractor.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Brenda Bryant of Greensburg, KY; and Joann Bragg of Metcalfe County, KY

  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Junior and Teresa Bryant of Greensburg, KY; and Daryl Bryant of North Dakota

  • Six grandchildren: Cliffton Sullivan of Greensburg, KY; Jeffrey Judd of Munfordville, KY; Jennifer Gossett of Cave City, KY; Julie Schrier of Glasgow, KY; Christy Grant of Louisiana, and J.P. Bryant of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister: Goldie Hart of Green County, KY

  • and a host of relatives and friends
Mr. Bryant was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Jessica Bragg.
