BJF: Never wrestle a mountain lion - a great story

Nature (Kentucky Color) writer saw mountain lion on Salt Lick Bend in Cumberland County, KY, in 1988. Friend saw one in The Flatwoods. Beautiful creatures, he says.

By Bill Joe Fudge

Great story, Bill. I'm just now catching my breath. I saw one on Salt Lick Bend of the Cumberland River, South of Burkesville in 1988. A friend of mine saw one in the Flatwoods on the Stanley Reliford (Jimmy\'s home place) farm in the early 80's. He shot at it with a 22 magnum pistol but apparently did not hit it. Beautiful creatures. --
