Adair schools see attendance remaining mostly steady

No major flu-like outbreaks this year

By Alan W. Reed

As we prepare to dismiss for the Christmas/New Year break, I am pleased to report that no major flu or flu-like illness outbreaks have occurred in our school district.

Many of you have seen the state map with flu impacted counties in "red" and I have had many people stop me and ask if flu has shown up in our student population. I have pulled our numbers from the past week and here is how we have shaped up across our district:
  • Mon 12/08 - 94.41%
  • Tue 12/09 - 94.06%
  • Wed 12/10 - 94.89%
  • Thu 12/11 - 94.78%
  • Fri 12/12 - 93.96%
  • Mon 12/15 - 93.25%
  • Tue 12/16 - 93.58%
Our attendance numbers are down just a little, with stomach illnesses being the major culprit. We continue to remind students to wash their hands frequently. Alan W. Reed, Superintendent, Adair County Schools, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY 42728. Phone: 270-384-2476
