LWC Women's Soccer plays Mobile in NAIA National Championship Second Round Sixth-seeded Blue Raiders face No. 11-seeded Lady Rams By Matthew Stokes News from Lindsey Wilson Colllege COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team faces host Mobile (AL) at 6:30pmCT on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, in the NAIA National Championship Second Round at the Orange Beach SportsPlex, 4385 William Silvers Parkway, Orange Beach, AL 36561. Lindsey Wilson (14-3-3) advanced through the National Championship Opening Round after defeating visiting Columbia (MO) by a 4-0 score on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Mobile (15-2-3) received an opening-round bye due to its designation as this year's NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Final Site host school. Over the course of their four postseason matches this season, including the Mid-South Conference Tournament, the third-ranked Blue Raiders have totaled 34 goals while allowing just a single goal. In those four matches alone, Anna Vig, Bettina Brulhart and Elizabet Madjarac have each recorded at least one point in every match. Vig has nine goals and a pair of assists; Brulhart has four goals and seven assists and Madjarac has two goals and four assists. Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Johanna Henriksson has played between the posts for all four of the Blue Raider postseason victories, recording three shutouts. The fifth-ranked Lady Rams enter the evening having shut out 14-of-20 opponents this fall and allowing zero goals total in three postseason matches during the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament. Tyler-Rae Molloy leads Mobile with 24 total points this season, having scored nine goals and assisting on six others. Katie Compton has nine goals and a pair of assists for 20 points. With Rebecca Wynne seeing the majority of playing time in goal this fall, the Lady Rams have allowed 12 goals combined in 20 matches this season. Coming into the match, the Blue Raiders are 5-1-0 all-time against the Lady Rams, winning the past five meetings. Most recently, Lindsey Wilson defeated Mobile, 6-0, in a neutral-site match on Friday, September 7, 2007, in Lookout Mountain, GA. The winner of tonight's match advances to the National Championship Quarterfinals to face the winner of the match between third-seeded Cumberland (TN) and 14th-seeded Concordia (CA).
