Ernest Calvin Bennett, 70, Russell County, KY (1944-2014)

He was a native of Columbia, KY, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Nora Catherine (Wheeler) and Dallas Ray Bennett. He was a member of a very large, highly respected family, with deep roots in Adair County, Russell County, Taylor County, and other areas of South Central Kentucky. His wife, Brenda Taylor Bennett, survives. He leaves 37 direct living descendants. Eleven siblings, residents of Adair, Russell, Taylor, Hart Counties, KY; and Morgan County, Indiana, survive. He worked as a Concrete Truck Driver and was a member of Coffey Grove Separate Baptist Church.

Ernest Calvin Bennett, 70, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral Services at Wilson Funeral Home, Russell Springs, KY, at 1pmCT on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, with Bro. Steve Willis officiating. Interment will be in the Tarter Cemetery in Adair County, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT on Monday at Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs.

Ernest Calvin Bennett was born in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky on August 14, 1944. He was a son of the late Nora Catherine (Wheeler) and Dallas Ray Bennett. He died Saturday, November 29, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 70 years, three months, and 15 days.

He worked as a Concrete Truck Driver and was a member of Coffey Grove Separate Baptist Church.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Brenda Taylor Bennett of Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Cindy, wife of Richard Kimbler, of Russell Springs, KY; Penny Bennett, of Russell Springs, KY; Pamela, wife of Ronnie Collins, of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sons: John Mark, husband of Bobbie Bennett, of Columbia, KY; Bryan Bennett, of Russell Springs, KY.

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Eighteen great-grandchildren.

  • Five sisters: Rachel Hirsth, of Wisconsin; Leola Maupin, of Campbellsville, KY; Bernice Willis, of Russell Springs, KY; Faye Clark, of Campbellsville, KY; Barbara Hudson, of Russell Springs, KY

  • Six brothers: Walter Bennett, of Mooresville, Indiana; Ralph Bennett, of Horse Cave, Kentucky; Sherman Bennett, of Russell Springs, Kentucky; David Bennett, of Fairplay, Kentucky; Donnie Bennett, of Columbia, Kentucky; David Bennett, of Fairplay, Kentucky.<
