LWC community celebrates college's largest Thanksgiving meal Over 200 at dinner this year hosted by Dr. William T. Luckey, Jr., and his wife, Elise - moved from Hundley House to Cranmer this year Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - For 17 years, Lindsey Wilson College President William T. Luckey Jr. and his wife, Elise, have hosted a few dozen LWC students, faculty and staff for Thanksgiving lunch in the college's Emily Hundley President's Home. The guests were usually either international students or U.S. residents whose family members live too far away to travel to see over the Thanksgiving holiday. But this year's Thanksgiving meal was moved to the college's Robert D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center because it attracted more than 200 guests. The reason: four of the college's fall sports teams - football, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball - are still playing in their respective NAIA postseason championships and the men's basketball team will host the LWC Classic Friday and Saturday. The Luckeys still contributed some of the meal's dishes and meats, but this year they had help from the college's dining staff and the guests, who each brought a covered dish or dessert. Many players' family members drove to Columbia to celebrate the holiday with their son or daughter. - DUANE BONIFER This story was posted on 2014-11-27 14:26:07
