Several descendants of Adair Chestnut tree at Lincoln birthplace Chris Bennett writes: There are several American chestnut trees planted on the grounds of Abraham Lincoln's birthplace National Park. These trees are descendants of the Adair county tree that survived the blight. They actually have a historical marker telling about the tree and it's re-introduction.
