LWC Men's, Women's Basketball at Shawnee State today

Blue Raiders match up against Mid-South Conference opponent

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's basketball teams play at Shawnee State (OH) on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium, 940 Second Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662. The women's and men's games are scheduled to begin at 5pmCT/6pmET and 7pmCT/8pmET, respectively.


Mid-South Opener or LWC Women

On the women's side, the No. 19-ranked Blue Raiders (5-0) compete in their Mid-South Conference opener.

Most recently, Lindsey Wilson defeated host Oakland City (IN) by a score of 75-57 on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

In each of their five games to date, the Blue Raiders have had multiple players score at least 10 points apiece, including a pair of double-double performances against Oakland City. In that road game, Chanel Roberts totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Michelle Montgomery had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson plays a Bears team (6-0, 2-0 MSC) that received 28 voting points total in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, but sits outside the ranked teams.

In Shawnee's State's previous game, the Bears won, 65-53, against host Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

Thus far, Shawnee State has allowed an average of 48.5 points over six games, including a season-high 65 points scored by Mount Vernon Nazarene (OH) on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

Entering tonight, the Bears have accomplished five separate double-digit scoring, double-digit rebounding performances. Among those double-double games for Shawnee State players are a pair of 20-point, 18-rebound performances by Rebecca Bruner, most recently against Cumberlands on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

During the 2013-14 season, the Blue Raiders went 1-2 against the Bears, winning by an 81-74 margin at Waller Gymnasium on Thursday, November 21, 2013.

Blue Raider men are playing second straight conference game

In the men's game, Lindsey Wilson (3-3, 0-1 MSC) plays in its second-straight conference game.

In their most-recent game, the Blue Raiders lost their MSC opener, 100-97, to visiting Life (GA) in overtime on Thursday, November 13, 2014.

Against Life, D'on Hall scored an individual season-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds, four assists and three steals. Overall, Hall is averaging 12.0 points and shooting 49.2 percent from the floor (29-of-59).

Squaring off with Lindsey Wilson is host Shawnee State (1-4, 0-2 MSC), which also attempts to earn its first conference victory this season.

The Bears dropped their last game on Saturday, November 15, 2014, by a score of 66-60 at Cumberlands, which tied for 25th in the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll.

For Shawnee State, Andrew Bendolph has totaled double-figure points in 4-of-5 games this fall, highlighted by a 17-point performance against preseason No. 2-ranked Pikeville (KY) on Thursday, November 13, 2014.

In 2013-14, the Blue Raiders split a pair of meetings with the Bears, most recently defeating Shawnee State, 75-71, on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Biggers Sports Center.
