Ruby Redmon, Russell Co., KY, Adair native (1922-2014)

She was a native of Adair County, KY and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Willie & Sally Jane Robertson Huckaby, and the widow of John Redmon. She leaves 40 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

Ruby Redmon, 92, of Russell Springs, KY, died Saturday at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral service for Ruby Redmon will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Fred Calkins officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Special music will be by Roger & Vicki Higginbotham.



Pallbearers: Coty Roy, Brandon Curtis, Greg Curtis, Bobby Brown, Brad Brown, and Brian Brown.

She was born Friday, September 24, 1922 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Willie & Sally Jane Robertson Huckaby. She died Saturday, November 15, 2014, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 92 yeaars, on month, and 22 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Redmon, and two grandchildren, Barbara and Adam Redmon.

Survivors include the following:
  • Six children: Ruthie (William) Brown, Russell Springs, KY; Jimmy Redmon, Indianapolis, IN; Carolyn (Junior) Grider, Russell Springs, KY Alvin (Cathy) Redmon, Russell Springs, KY; Sharon (Ronnie) Tiller, Columbia, KY; and Kennith (Lora) Redmon, Russell Springs, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Fifteen great grandchildren

  • Eight great-great grandchildren

  • One sister: Annie Stafford, Franklin, IN

  • One brother: Irvin Huckaby, Evansville, IN
