Lindsey Wilson Volleyball falls in MSC Tournament Title match Loss snaps Blue Raiders' 28-match winning streak. Team now awaits an at-large bid to the national tournament, which will be know on Mondy, November 17, 2014, at 12pmCT. By Matthew Stokes News from Lindsey Wilson College CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson volleyball team lost in straight sets to second-seeded Georgetown (KY) (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship finale on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Powell Athletic Center in Campbellsville. The Blue Raiders (32-3) managed a team attacking percentage of just .198, while the Tigers (28-10) had a .312 hitting percentage. Georgetown grabbed the opening set by a 25-18 margin as it had a .429 attacking percentage with 19 kills against four errors. Conversely, Lindsey Wilson totaled nine kills with four errors during the first set. In the second set, the Blue Raiders were within a single point of the Tigers as late as 23-22 after a Yeniffer Ramirez kill. Consecutive kills by Allyson Wilbourn and Caraline Maher, however, sealed the second-set victory for Georgetown, 25-22. During the third and final set, the score was tied at 14-14 before a Blue Raider service error made it 15-14 in favor of Georgetown. The Tigers would continue to hold the lead, culminated by back-to-back kills by Maher to seal the three-set match win for the Georgetown, 25-19. Lindsey Wilson's Ramirez had a team-high 11 kills, and Makenzie Montano finished with 18 assists. Caitlyn Tino had a team-best nine digs. For Georgetown, Maher led all players with 14 kills. Stephanie Gurren had a match-high 23 assists, and Lindsey Martindale had 21 assists. Courtney Grafton totaled a match-best 15 digs. With the MSC Tournament Championship victory, the Tigers earn the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship. Lindsey Wilson now awaits at an at-large bid to the national tournament. The release of the event's 36-team field will be announced on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 12:00pmCT.
