Mrs. Bertie Abbott Stump, 64, Cumberland Co., KY (1950-2014)

She was a native of Pike County, KY, and a resident of Lawson Bottom Community of Cumberland County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Earl W. and Gladys R. Varney Stump. Her husband, Alvin Stump, survives. She leaves eight direct and three step living descendants. She was a caregiver and a homemaker.

Mrs. Bertie Abbott Stump, age 64, of the Lawson Bottom Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11amCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KU, with Bro. Vernon Luttrell officiating. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery, N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. The family will receive friends after 7pmCT, on Monday, November 10, 2014 until the funeral hour on Wednesday.



Mrs. Bertie Abbott Stump, 64, Cumberland Co., KY (1950-2014)

She was born in Pikeville, Pike County, Kentucky on Wednesday, February 22, 1950, the daughter of Earl W. and Gladys R. Varney Abbott. She died Sunday, November 9, 2014, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 64 years, seven month, and 15 days.

She was a caregiver and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Keith Ball; her brothers, Willard Abbott and Carl Abbott; and her grandchild, Justin McBryar.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin Stump of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom she married on Saturday, December 20, 2008, and the following:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara Ann and Troy Young of Crooksville, Ohio

  • Her step-children: Johnny & Gail Stump of Hustonville, Kentucky; Crystal & Jerry Maxlow of Warren, Michigan; and Amanda Stump of Deland, Florida

  • Her siblings: Hester & Theron Farmer, Edward Lee and Ocie Irene Abbott, Margie A. and Billy Hunt, Harold and Dale Abbott, Eulan James and Sharon Abbott, all of Kimper, Kentucky; Thelma Jean Abbott of Russell Springs, Kentucky; Larry Wayne Abbott of Kimper, Kentucky

  • Her sister-in-law: Sadie Abbott of Kimper, Kentucky

  • Her grandchildren: Cheyenne Nicole Young, Troy Michael Young, Nicholas McKenzie, Savanna Maxlow, Preston Maxlow, Jaxon Stump and Rebecca McBryar.
