Monica Marie Sparks Underwood, 36, Green Co., KY (1978-2014)

Mrs. Monica Marie Sparks Underwood of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was 36 years old.

The funeral services for Mrs. Underwood will be conducted at 10amCT, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main, Greensburg with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, Kentucky. Bro. Nathan Crawford will be officiating. Visitation is requested 3pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, November 5, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Wednesday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Ricky Grimes, Cash Hill, Keith Morgan, Billy Livers, Alex Santiago, and Roger Purvis.

Mrs. Monica Marie Sparks Underwood of Greensburg, Kentucky, was the daughter of Frances Lindsey Sparks of Summersville, and the late Fred Sparks. She was born on August, 6, 1978 in Liberty, Casey Countym, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was 36 years old.

Mrs. Underwood had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, William Jason Underwood of Greensburg, KY, having united in marriage on October 23, 1997.

Other survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Kayla Lynn Sparks, and Alexis Deanna Underwood both of Summersville, KY

  • Three brothers and a sister: Dennis Eugene Sparks of Lexington, KY; Gary Lee Sparks of Magnolia, KY; Tony Sparks of Louisville, KY; and Coleen Wright of Georgia

  • A special niece: Virginia Ann Thompson

  • A special friend: Sally Matney

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
