BJF: Mayoral leadership, vote of people, could stop Payroll Tax

If the local electorate shows their displeasure with the council's implementation of the tax by electing a candidate running on a platform of repeal then I believe the city council under that new leadership would have to, necessarily, reconsider the actions of the prior council and consider other options in lieu of a repeal. - BJF

Personal Commentary of the writer

I understand Ms. Pike's reasoning but don't agree with her concrete statement that there can be no repeal of the payroll tax without a new city council.

I believe we in this community have for way too long voted for folks based upon "the way things have always been" rather than voting for folks based upon "the way things need to be".

We should be striving for the impossible rather than settling for the possible.
