LWC Women's Basketball opens 2014 season Sat 1 Nov 2014

COLUMBIA, KY – The 19th-ranked Lindsey Wilson women’s basketball team opens the 2014-15 season at Brescia (KY) in Owensboro, Kentucky, on Saturday at 1pmCT.



] The Blue Raiders are coming off a season in which they went 19-12 overall and 9-9 in the Mid-South Conference. The squad fell in the MSC Tournament Quarterfinals 69-65 to Shawnee State (Ohio) on March 7, 2014.

Lindsey Wilson was one of the top teams in the MSC in scoring in 2013-14. The Blue Raiders finished fifth in the conference with 75.74 points per game and fourth in the conference shooting 33.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Lindsey Wilson is picked to finish second in the Mid-South Conference this season, behind only Campbellsville (KY).

The Blue Raiders have seven newcomers for the 2014-15 season, including five transfers.

Returners for Lindsey Wilson include Keosha Wisener, Chanel Roberts, Cassidy Martin, Kayla Richardson, Bre Elder, Ranika Rone and Deanna Downs.
Brescia is coming off an 84-81 win over Wilberforce (Ohio) on Oct. 28 in their season opener.
