Billy Joe Fudge Commentary: Tuesday is Election Day

By Billy Joe Fudge
Personal commentary

Tuesday is Election Day and I want to encourage everyone to vote. Each year it seems that more and more folks abdicate their responsibility to help govern these United States of America, our state and our community by not voting.

Additionally, it seems that people don’t give much thought to how they vote. People gripe continually about how elected officials are not responsive to their needs and are not taking care of business in their respective offices, yet according to the numbers keep voting the same folks back into office.

I have a recommendation or two for folks:
  • Think for yourself,
  • Think positively about what each candidate brings to the table,
  • Think for yourself,
  • Think about whether or not you’re pleased with past performance,
  • Think for yourself,
  • Think how things should be; not about how things have always been,
  • Think for yourself,
  • Then, don’t "just" think, vote!

  • In summation

  • If you’re satisfied with the way things are, vote accordingly or,
  • If you are dissatisfied with the way things are, vote accordingly.
