Ruth Willis, Adair County, KY (1928-2014)

She was a native of Cumberland County, KY and a resident of Adair County at the time of her death. She was a member of a highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lovie Cary Anderson, and the widow of Eugene Willis. She leaves 12 direct living descendants. Mrs. Willis was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ and a longtime sales clerk of The Style Shop and The Men’s Shop.

Ruth Willis, 85 years of Hwy 55 South, Columbia, KY passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at 4:58amCT, at the Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service: Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Interment in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 4:00 PM on Sunday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.


Ruth Willis, Adair County, KY (1928-2014)

She was born Sunday, November 11, 1928 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lovie Cary Anderson. She died Friday, October 17, 2014, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 6 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Eugene Willis on November 17, 1999.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Greg Willis of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Marilyn W. Hacker of London, KY

  • One sister: Bonnie Dyer of Burkesville, KY

  • Four grandsons: James Lewis Willis, Gregory Jared Willis, Richard Brandon Hacker, Adam Bradley Hacker

  • Six great grandchildren: Jaden Willis, Trevor Willis, Kennedy Hacker, Colton Hacker, Branston Hacker, and Brodon Hacker.
Mrs. Willis was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ and a longtime sales clerk of The Style Shop and The Men’s Shop.
