Lester K. Spears age 77 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral service, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation from 3pmCT until 9pmCT, Friday, October 17, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Lester K. Spears, 77, Cumberland Co, KY (1937-2014)

Lester was born on Sunday, June 13, 1937 in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Millard and Pearl Riddle Spears. He passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 77 years four months.

He was a retired employee of MKM Machine Tool Company in Jeffersonville, IN. and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Spears and Ricky Spears; five brothers, Granville Spears, Austin Spears, Leslie Spears, Preston Spears, and J.E. Spears: and three sisters, Lizzie Ooten, Bonnie Johnson, and Maxie Bowlin.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Randall Spears of Indianapolis, IN; and Adam Spears of Albany, KY

  • Three Sisters: Linda Appleby of Burkesville, KY; Shirley Stone of Gallatin, TN; and Mabel Carter of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Brandi Powell, Randall Spears, Jr., and Michael Parrish, Sr.

  • Seven great grandchildren: Brooklyn , Jordan, Tommy, Ashlei, Isaiah, Emily, and Michael Parrish, Jr.

  • Special friends: Earl Wright and Mary Ann Elliott.

  • and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
