Dale Thomas, Casey County, KY (1939-2014)

He leaves 19 direct living descendants and two step living descendants. He was a former night watchman for Liberty Sportswear and a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Dale Thomas passed away Sunday, October, 5, 2014 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY. He was 75.

Funeral services are 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. J.D. McDonald officiating. Mr. Thomas will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Contown Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 9amCT/10amET, until funeral service.

Born Friday, January 19, 1939 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Marion F. and Lillie Hampton Thomas. He died Sunday, October 5, 2014, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 75 years, eight months, and 17 days.

He was a former night watchman for Liberty Sportswear and a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his companion and caregiver, Rhonda Duncan of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Gayle Nelson of Sidney, Montana; Renita Russell of Russell Springs, KY; and Patricia Short of Liberty, KY

  • Two step-children: Timmy Duncan and Tonya Ramirez

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Seven great-grandchildren

  • A brother: Don Thomas of Liberty, KY

  • And a sister: Shirley Elmore of Liberty, KY
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Thomas; three brothers, Gerald, Neal, and Ralph Thomas; a sister, Charlotte Thomas; and one stillborn brother and a stillborn sister.
