He was the son of the late Lemuel and Myrtie Bolin Burton. He was the widower of Joyce Withers Burton. His name is now carried to the fifth generation. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Lemuel "Junebug" Burton, Jr., 80, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Christian Care Center in Lancaster, KY.

Graveside service for Lemuel "Junebug" Burton, Jr. will be at 3pmCT, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the New Pleasant Point Cemetery in Pulaski County, KY, with Bro. Charles Shepherd officiating. There will be no visitation.

He was born Friday, July 27, 1934 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Lemuel and Myrtie Bolin Burton. He died Sunday, September 28, 2014, in Lancaster, Garrard County, KY, at the age of 80 years, two months, and one day.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Withers Burton; a son, Lemuel Hayes "Butch" Burton, III; three sisters, Bertha Wilson, Dorothy Sears, and Marie Roberts; and four brothers, Earl, Leonard, Stanley, and Eugene Burton.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two grandsons: Dylan Burton, Somerset, KY; and Lemuel Hayes Burton, IV

  • Great grandson: Lemuel Hayes Burton, V

  • Daughter-in-law: Janie Burton, Nancy, KY

  • Sister: Josephine Holmes, Florida
