LWC Football slips to No. 22 in latest NAIA Coaches' Poll By Charles Balcom, Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College football team fell five spots to No. 22 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Monday, September 29, 2014. Lindsey Wilson received 67 total points from the panel of national raters. The drop from No. 17 to No. 22 comes two days after the Blue Raiders suffered their second loss of the season, falling 28-21 to No. 4 Faulkner (AL) in Montgomery, Alabama. Lindsey Wilson trailed early, but managed to work their way back into a 21-21 tie late in the fourth quarter. An Eagles' touchdown with 5:00 minutes to play proved to be the difference maker as Faulkner held on for the 28-21 win. Along with Faulkner, Mid-South Conference members Georgetown (Ky.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) reside in the poll. Faulkner remains No. 4 with 294 points, Georgetown is No. 6 with 276 points and Cumberland is No. 14 with 170 points. Campbellsville (KY) and Kentucky Christian both sit just outside the poll in the receiving votes category. Morningside continues to hold the No. 1 spot with 340 points and 14 first-place votes. Baker (KS) is second with 327 points and the final first-place vote. Tabor (KS) rounds out the top three with 313 points. In all, the top eight teams in the poll went unchanged.
