He was the son of the late Hershel and Ella Bragg Bennett. He was a retired farmer and member of the Prices Creek Baptist Church but attended the Red Lick United Methodist Church.

Elvester Bennett age 82, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing and Rehab in Columbia, KY, formerly of Metcalfe County, passed away Sunday at Summit Manor.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Bragg Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Tuesday 30 Sep 2014, and after 9amCT, Wednesday, 1 Oct 2014, at the funeral home.




He was the son of the late Hershel and Ella Bragg Bennett. He was a retired farmer and member of the Prices Creek Baptist Church but attended the Red Lick United Methodist Church. He is survived by the following:
  • His sister: Thelma Hagan and her husband Jimmy of Columbia, KY

  • And nieces and nephews
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Venella Jessee Bennett, a brother Davis Bennett and two sons Darrell and Douglas Bennett.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
