Elmer Ray Dittus, Casey County, KY (1918-2014)

He was a native of North Dakota and a resident of California at the time of his death. He will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery, Liberty, KY. He was the widower of the Ruth Fair Dittus, who passed away March 1, 2003. He was a mechanical engineer in Aircraft designs. He was also a World War II Army veteran. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Elmer R. Dittus passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Marina Del Ray Hospital in Los Angeles California. He was 96.

Private burial will take place in the Glenwood Cemetery, Casey County, KY. There will be no visitation.



Elmer Ray Dittus, Casey County, KY (1918-2014)

Born June 6, 1918 in North Dakota, He was the son of the late Barry C. and Matilda Wiest Dittus. He died Wednesday, September 3, 2014, in Los Angeles, CA, at the age of 96 years, two months, and 27 days.

He was the widower of the Ruth Fair Dittus, who passed away March 1, 2003. He was a mechanical engineer in Aircraft designs. He was also a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include the following:
  • His sons: Roger Dittus, of Boise, Idaho and Barry Dittus of Los Angeles, California

  • A daughter, Cindy Rose of Irvine, California

  • One brother: Charles Dittus of Nebraska

  • Four sisters: Joyce Gibbs of Ohio; Beverley Harrison of Idaho; Myrna Jackson of Montana; and Ellen Peraino of California

  • Four grandchildren
Arrangements are entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
