LWC Men's Soccer opens MSC play with 4-1 win over CU

Blue Raiders maintain 25 game perfect record in competition with Campbellsville University at 'Couch Night' event

The Lindsey Wilson College men’s soccer team opened 2014 Mid-South Conference play Tuesday night. September 16, 2014, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY, with a 4-1 win over Campbellsville (KY) University.



The Blue Raiders are now 25-0 all-time against the Tigers and 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in Mid-South Conference. The game was celebrated with "Couch night," as students dragged four dozen couches and recliners from residence halls to watch the match from the sidelines. Couch night is sponsored by Lindsey Wilson College Student Government Association.

LWC students dragged more than four dozen couches and recliners to watch the match from the sideline during the college's annual "Couch Night," which is sponsored by the LWC Student Government Association. LWC midfielder Billal Qsiyer of Mulhouse, France, heads in the second goal to give the Blue Raiders - ranked No. 3 in the NAIA - a 2-0 lead in the second half. LWC's next home match at Reuling Stadium, is 7 p.m. CT Sunday, Sept. 21, against University of Northwestern Ohio.
