Ralph Price, 94, Casey Co., KY (1920-2014)

He was a retired teacher for the Liberty and Casey County School Systems with a Doctorate Degree in Education. He was a WWII Army veteran, a farmer, and member of the Antioch Christian Church. Ralph was a member of the Casey County Teacher’s Hall of Fame and the Craftsman Masonic Lodge #722.

Ralph Price of Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was 94 years old.

Funeral services are 11amCT/12pm noon ET, Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Antioch Christian Church with Bro. Bryce McCulley officiating. Mr. Price will be laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery with military honors by the Caswell-Saufley American Legion Post and the Fort Knox US Army Honor Guard.Visitation is Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 2pm-7pmCT/3pm-8pmET, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, and Friday from 9amCT/10amET, until the funeral service at the Antioch Christian Church.



Ralph Price, 94, Casey Co., KY (1920-2014)


Born February 1, 1920 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late William Roy Price and Lillie Murphy Price. He died Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 94 years, seven months, and eight days.

He was a retired teacher for the Liberty and Casey County School Systems with a Doctorate Degree in Education. He was a WWII Army veteran, a farmer, and member of the Antioch Christian Church. Ralph was a member of the Casey County Teacher's Hall of Fame and the Craftsman Masonic Lodge #722. In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Compton Price; a son, Phillip S. Price; daughter, Joan Cochran; two brothers, Earl and Lilburn Price; and three sisters, Dora Lee Jeter, Virginia Welch, and Anna Mae Price.

Survivors include the following:
  • A son: Gary Ralph (and Diana) Price of Shepherdsville, KY

  • A step-son: Steve (and Brenda) Wesley of Liberty, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Ray, Stuart, Jennifer, Shawn, Chris, Michael, Matt, and Malory

  • Fifteen great-grandchildren

  • A brother: Rodney Price of Liberty, KY

  • And sister: Helen Richards of Liberty, KY
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
