Leola Witty age 98 of Edmonton, Kentucky, departed this life September 6, 2014 at Metcalfe County Health Care in Edmonton, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, and after 9amCT, Friday at the funeral home.



Leola Witty, 98, Metcalfe Co., KY (1915-2014)

Leola Witty age 98 of Edmonton, Kentucky was born September 28, 1915 in Metcalfe County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Vontras and Irene Shirley. She departed this life Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Metcalfe Co unty Health Care in Edmonton, KY, at the age of 98 years, 11 months, and eight days.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Maedell Wallace and husband Ed of Edmonton, KY formerly of Hoopeston, Illinois

  • Two sisters: Margaret Vibbert of Summer Shade, Kentucky and Lougene Wooten of Whiteland, Indiana.

  • Two grandchildren: Ann Wallace of Edmonton, KY; and Eddie Wallace and wife Marilyn of Sarasota, Florida

  • Four great grandchildren: Rich ard Carder and Sarah Carder of Edmonton, KY; and Erik and Taylor Wallace of Sarasota, Florida

  • One great great grandchild: Joshua Brueggeman, son of Sarah Carder of Edmonton, KY

  • Two special nephews: Delbert Vibbert of Summer Shade, KY; and Ricky Carter of Jasksonville, Florida

  • Good friends: Billy and Sylvia Cook of Edmonton, KY; and the Clifford Atwell family of Danville, Illinois

  • Several nieces and nephews also survive
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dale Witty; special uncle and aunt, Volney and Daisy Shirley; and two brothers in law, Clarence Vibbert and James Wooten.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
