Richard Allen Murley, 72, Russell Co., KY (1941-2014)

He was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Bransford & Leona Berry Murley. His wife, Karen Sue Mohow Murley, survives. He leaves 33 direct living descendants. He was a Veteran of US Navy will be accorded full military honors at commital rites at Mill Springs National Cemetery. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.

Richard Allen Murley, 72, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Russell County Hopsital, Russell Springs, KY.

Graveside services for Richard Allen Murley will be at 10amCT/11amET, Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 W. Highway 80, Nancy, KY, with military honors. Visitation will be 6-8pmCT, Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. Burial in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY.



Richard Allen Murley, 72, Russell Co., KY (1941-2014)


He was born October 24, 1941 in Taylor County, KY. He was the son of the late Bransford & Leona Berry Murley. He died Saturday, August 30, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 72 years, 10 months, and six days.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded inn death by two brothers, Virgil Edward Murley, Roger "Slick" Murley Survivors include:
  • His wife: Karen Sue Mohow Murley

  • Eight children: Diane Murley, Lisa Murley, Norman Murley, Ronald Jacobson, all of Rhode Island; Ann Marie Hobbs, Tommy Mohow, both of Omaha, NE; Brian Mohow, Oklahoma; Mark Mohow, Bowling Green, KY

  • Twenty-two grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren

  • One sister: Pat Clark, Louisville, KY

  • Two brothers: Walter Ronald Murley, Campbellsville, KY; and Bill Murley, Valdese, NC

  • A host of nieces and nephews also survive
