He was the owner of Riley Roofing Company for 46 years. He was a native of Overton County, TN, and a resident of Cumberland County, TN, at the time of his death. He was he son of the late Sam Austing Riley and Mary Frances Short Riley. He is survived by his wife, Helen Wills Riley.

Lester Bee Riley age 75 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 2pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY with burial in the Riley Family Cemetery. The family requests visitation 3pm-9pmCT,Friday, August 29, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Lester Bee Riley, 75, Cumberland County, KY (1939-2014)

He was born on Monday, April 10, 1939 in Overton County, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Sam Austin Riley and Mary Frances Short Riley. He died Wednesday, August 27, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 75 years, four months, and 17 days.

He was the owner of Riley Roofing Company for 46 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Lester Bee Riley, Jr., and Johnny Riley; two grandchildren, Melissa Branham and Sarah Jo Waid; five sisters, Dean Adams, Edith Fentress, Beulah Lee Pace, Alma Jean Riley, and Athleta Moore; and Three Brothers, James Hugh Riley, Danny Reed Riley, and Irettes Riley.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Helen Wills Riley of Burkesville, KY

  • Five sons: Mark Riley and his wife Teresa of Burkesville, KY; Luke Riley and his fiance' Jessie of Tompkinsville, KY; Matthew Riley and his wife Tricia of Burkesville, KY; Robert Riley and his wife Kim of Burkesville, KY; and Fate Riley of Burkesville, KY

  • Two daughters: Karen Smith and her friend Clark of Celina, TN, and Kathy Waid and her husband Greg of Burkesville, KY

  • Two brothers: Billy D. Riley and Carl Edward Riley both of Hilham, TN

  • One sister: Loura Sue Crawford of Cookeville, TN

  • Eighteen grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
