LWC Volleyball sweeps last matches at Montreat Tournament No. 10 Blue Raiders improve to 3-1 on the season By Charles Balcom News from Lindsey Wilson Sports MONTREAT, NC - The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team swept a pair of games on Saturday on the final day of the Volley in the Mountains Tournament hosted by Montreat College. The Blue Raiders defeated Point Park (Pa.) 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-18) in their first match of the day and swept Montreat in the nightcap 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-13). Sarah Shilling and Sarah Anderson led the way for Lindsey Wilson in the first match, each finishing with 10 kills. Anderson posted a .556 hitting percentage in the win. Daryna Liutikova added eight kills while freshman Makenzie Montano led the team with 29 assists and 13 digs. The Blue Raider squad combined for five total blocks in the game. In the final match of the tournament, Liutikova led the way totaling 13 kills against Montreat. Shilling finished with nine kills with Sophia Riviere adding four. Montano again led the way in assists with 19 for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson hit .342 as a team committing just 10 errors on 73 total attempts. The Blue Raiders finished with eight total blocks in the win. Lindsey Wilson improves to 3-1 on the season with the wins. The Blue Raiders swept Webber International (FL) on Friday in their first match of the tournament before suffering a 3-0 loss at the hands of College of Coastal Georgia.
