Mr. Russell Keith Gilbert, Cumberland Co., KY (1926-2014)

He was a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church and a salesman for J's Discount and Cumberland Wholesale. He was the patriarch a highly regarded family, a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of William and Fannie Mae Bunch Gilbert. His wife of 64 yeaars, Mary Edna Hughes Gilbert, survives. He leaves 18 direct and eight step living decendants.

Mr. Russell Keith Gilbert, age 88, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville. KY.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 12pm noon CT, on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Norris-New Funeral Home until the funeral hour on Friday.



Mr. Russell Keith Gilbert, Cumberland Co., KY (1926-2014)

He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Saturday, June 12, 1926, the son of William and Fannie Mae Bunch Gilbert. He died in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, on Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Cumberland County Hospital, in Burkesville, KY at the age of 88 years, two months, and six days.

He was a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church and a salesman for J's Discount and Cumberland Wholesale.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilburn Gilbert, Charlie Ray Gilbert, A. B. Gilbert, John Frank Gilbert, Joe Reed Gilbert and Shelby Lee Gilbert; his sisters, Jessie Mae Gilbert Scott, Maxine Gilbert Wells, Betty Sue Gilbert Keesling and his grandson, Victor Brooks Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Edna Hughes Gilbert of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom he married on Tuesday, February 28, 1950, and the following:
  • His daughter: Gloria Daisy Gilbert of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • His sons: Roger Ellis (and Jennifer) Gilbert of Livingston, Tennessee; and Timothy Keith Gilbert of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • His grandchildren: Chris P. Isenberg, Brian Neal Isenberg, Anthony Joseph Gilbert, Lori Beth Gilbert, Timothy Craig Gilbert

  • His step-grandson: James Crabtree

  • His great-grandchildren: Haydeon Wraine Isenberg, Trenton Wayne Gilbert, Conner Dwayne Cash, Cory Evan Cash, Joseph Landon Gilbert, Emma Elizabeth Gilbert, Adam Lane Gilbert, Paisley Leeanne Gilbert

  • His step-great-grandchildren: Leslee Davenport, Rachel Hollimon, Raymond Hollimon, John Ross Castillo, Andrew Castillo, Cody Castillo, Jacob Castillo

  • His step-great-great-grandson: Alex
