Roger Alan Lawhorn, Somerset, KY (1953-2014)

He was a native of Boyle County, KY, and a resident of Pulaski County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of Wilbert Lawhorn, who survives, and the late Mary Frances Hayes Lawhorn. He leaves six direct living descendants, including a daughter, Deanna Lawhorn Wilson of Columbia, KY, and a son, Ron Lawhorn, Somerset, KY. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific in Cincinnati, OH.

Roger Alan Lawhorn, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was 60.

Funeral services will be held at 12pmCT/1pmET Thursday, August 14, 2014, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Buel Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Cold Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30amCT/10:30amET, until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Born September 10, 1953, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, He was a son of Wilbert Lawhorn of Somerset, KY, and the late Mary Frances Hayes Lawhorn. He died Thursday, August 7, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 60 years, Roger retired from Georgia-Pacific in Cincinnati, OH.

Survivors include his father, Wilbert Lawhorn of Somerset, KY, and the following:
  • A son: Ronald Lawhorn of Somerset, KY

  • A daughter: Deanna Lawhorn (husband, Dennis) Wilson of Columbia, KY

  • A sister: Carolyn Lawhorn (husband, Doug) Salmons of Somerset, KY

  • And five grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his mother and his son, Roger Alan Lawhorn, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the funeral home to help the family offset funeral expenses.
