Rev. Gene Hall, Taylor County, KY (1933-2014)

Taylor County and South Central Kentucky has lost a distinguished Christian servant. Rev. Gene Hall was an ordained Baptist minister for over 50 years and served churches in Taylor, Green and Casey Counties. He was Transportation Director and Social Service Director for Taylor County School System for many years. He served on Taylor County Hospital board for nineteen years and served as chaplain for Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue for many years. He was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of hte late Albert hall and Bessie Hash Hall. His wife of just a few days short of 60 years, Christine Deener Hall, survives. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Rev. Gene Hall, 81, of Campbellsville, KY, He died at 7:04amET, Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Mike O'Neal and Dr. James Jones. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 3pm-7pmCT/4pm-8pmCT, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Rev. Gene Hall of Campbellsville, KY, was the son of the late Albert Hall and Bessie Hash Hall. He was born Saturday, July 22, 1933 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 18 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an ordained Baptist minister for over 50 years and served churches in Taylor, Green and Casey Counties. He was Transportation Director and Social Service Director for Taylor County School System for many years. He served on Taylor County Hospital board for nineteen years and served as chaplain for Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue for many years.

He united in marriage to Christine Deener August 14, 1954.

Besides his wife, Christine Deener Hall, he is survived by the following:
  • One son: David Hall and wife, Donna, Campbellsville, KY

  • One son-in-law: Donald Weeks, Campbellsville, KY

  • One granddaughter: Chloe Eva Hal, Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Buster Hall and wife, Peggy, Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister-in-law: Fannie Hall, Campbellsville, KY

  • Mother-in-law: Eva Deener, Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews, Campbellsville, KY

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by one son and one daughter: Stephen Dean Hall December 4, 1964 and Dr. Bobbie Jean Hall December 28, 2013and two brothers: Carl Hall and Earl Hall.

The family request expresssions of sympathy be donations to Gideon Bibles or Hosparus of Green River and Central Kentucky and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
