3 LWC Blue Raiders on 2014 All-Commonwealth Football Team Branden Cresap, Chaz Barnes and Jerry Long II earned the distinction By Charles Balcom News from Lindsey Wlson College COLUMBIA, Ky. – Three members of the Lindsey Wilson football team were named to the 2014 Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Commonwealth Team recently at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in Louisville, KY. Seniors Branden Cresap and Chaz Barnes and junior Jerry Long II earned the preseason distinction. The team, sponsored by Community Trust Bank, is comprised of student-athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II, III and NAIA institutions in the state. Cresap, a Shelbyville, KY, native, was named the 2013 Mid-South Conference East Offensive Player of the Year as he passed for 2,663 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was also an All-MSC East First Team selection for the second time in his career. Barnes, a wide receiver from Alcoa, TN, caught 27 passes for 442 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2013. He has caught 82 passes for 1,368 yards and 12 touchdowns in his three seasons at Lindsey Wilson and was named an All-MSC East First Team selection as a freshman. Long II is a linebacker from Louisville, KY. During his sophomore season in 2013, Long II led the Blue Raiders with 67 total tackles, including an 11-tackle performance in the season finale against Georgetown (KY). His efforts earned him a MSC East First Team selection. Lindsey Wilson kicks off the 2014 season on Thursday, August 28 against rival Campbellsville (KY) at 6:30pmCT/7:30pmET, at Campbellsville University's Finley Stadium, 204 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY.
