CU music professors to perform at National Flute Convention

The public to attend a send-off concert with Dr. Lisa McArthur, Dr. William Budai, and Saulo DeAleida on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 4pmCT/5pmET, in room 210/the Choral/Handbell Room, in the Gosser Fine Arts Center,, 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY. The concert is free.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Three Campbellsville University music faculty members have been invited to perform at the National Flute Convention Thursday-Sunday-August 7-10 in Chicago at the Chicago Hilton, 720 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL. Dr. Lisa McArthur, professor of music, will play flute; Dr. William Budai, associate professor of piano, will play piano; and Saulo DeAlmeida, instructor in music, will perform on the cello. They will perform "Trio, opus 86" by Nikolai Kapustin at 8:30amCT Friday, August 8, 2014 at the convention.



The public to attend a send-off concert on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 4pmCT/5pmET, in room 210/the Choral/Handbell Room, Gosser Fine Arts Center,, 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY. The concert is free. The music professors were invited to perform based on an audio recording they submitted. Approximately 3,000 flutists will attend the convention from all over the world.

McArthur said the convention is the largest gathering of flutists in the world. This is the 42nd annual convention; its theme is "Perform, Inspire, Educate!" The website is: National Flute Association online
