Mr. Orval Wayne Jeffries, Green County, KY (1926-2014)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church and was a lifelong farmer. He was the son of the late George Jeffries and Tura Davis Jeffries. His wife of 69 years, Jessie Arlene Bishop Jeffries, survives.

Mr. Orval Wayne Jeffries, age 87 of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday at his residence in Green County, KY.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10amCT, Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family requests visitation 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, July 25, 2014, and after 7amCT Saturday until time of the service at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Jerry Bagby, Larry Bishop, Greg Laramore, Michael Thiron, Bendal Moran, Gary Pepper, J.L. Curry, and Jon Jeffries.

Mr. Orval Wayne Jeffries, Green County, KY (1926-2014)

Mr. Orval Wayne Jeffries of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late George Jeffries and Tura Davis Jeffries, was born on November 5, 1926 in Green County, and departed this life on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home. He was 87 years, eight months, and 18 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church and was a lifelong farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jessie Arlene Bishop Jeffries of Greensburg, having united in marriage on July 21, 1945.


Other survivors include the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Joni and Dan Thiron of Greensburg, KY

  • One grandchild: Melissa Bonta of Greensburg, KY

  • One step grandchild: Michael Thiron of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Elmo Jeffries, Shepherdsville, KY
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Oak Grove Cemetery fund.
