Melvin Emory Martin, of Shugars Hill Road, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was 61.

Funeral services will be at 9amCT/10amET, Monday, July 14, 2014, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Clifford DeHart officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Contown Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, May 13, 2014, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 6pmCT/7pmET.



Melvin Martin, Casey County, KY, (1961-2014)

Born Tuesday, November 27, 1951, in Casey Co., KY, he was a son of the late Hayden and Villa Marie Wilson Martin. He died Friday, July 11, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 61 years, seven months, and 14 days.

Melvin was a farmer and a member of the Craftsman Masonic Lodge #722. He enjoyed playing cards and watching westerns on TV.

Survivors include the following:
  • His sons: Chris (Tresia) Martin and Emery (Carey) Martin, both of Liberty, KY

  • Brothers: Larry Martin, Murl (Flossie) Martin, and Billy Martin, all of Liberty, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Brittany Martin and Allie Tinsley
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Luttrell Martin, who passed away on November 23, 2008, and his brothers, Donald, Woodrow, and Monroe Martin.
