James Edward (Jim Ed) Cary, Cumberland Co., KY (1931-2014)

He was a longtime asphalt roller operator, beginning his career in 1947 for Cumberland Construction, later working for Ford and Son Paving for over 20 years, and for Scotty's Construction before retiring. He was a native of Cumberland County and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Floyd and Opal Anderson Cary and the widower of Grace Goff Cary.

James Edward "Jim Ed" Cary age 83 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, July 08, 2014 at his home.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11amCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton officiating. Burial will be in Gaines Hill Cemetery. The family requests visitation after 5pmCT,. Wednesday, July 09, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Jim Ed Cary, Cumberland County, KY (1931-2014)


Jim Ed Cary was born on January 11, 1931 in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Floyd and Opal Anderson Cary. He died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 83 years, five months, and 28 days.

He was a longtime asphalt roller operator, beginning his career in 1947 for Cumberland Construction, later working for Ford and Son Paving for over 20 years, and for Scotty's Construction before retiring.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Grace Goff Cary on May 31, 2014, and one brother, Carson Cary.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, c/o Development Department 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
