Injury accident occurs 6 miles east of Columbia, KY, on Saturday, July 5, 2014

On Saturday July 5, 2014, the Adair County Sheriff's Office and the Adair County Ambulance Service responded to a two vehicle collision with injuries on Russell Road approximately six miles from Columbia. One lane was closed for approximately forty minutes while the vehicles and debris were removed from the roadway. The Columbia/Adair County Fire Department were also called to the scene to prevent a possible vehicle fire when one of the vehicles began smoking.

The initial investigation showed that 28 year old Bradley Powell was operating a 1994 Toyota Corolla and attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. Powell turned into the path of 38 year old Sheana Passmore who was operating a 2001 Hyundai. Passmore and her passenger were transported to Westlake ER were they were treated for their injuries. Powell was taken to the Westlake ER later by private vehicle. - From the Adair County Sheriff's Office
