He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of Adair County at the time of his death. He was the widower of Mina Thomas Hadley and the patriarch of a large, respected family. He leaves 30 direct and nine step descendants. He was a farmer.

William Snow Hadley age 88 years of Union Church Lane,Glensfork, KY passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 7:42pmCT.

Funeral service Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home., 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Brian Fudge the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Helm Cemetery, 52 Helm Cemetery Road, Glensfork, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Saturday, July 6, 2014.



William Snow Hadley, 88, Adair Co., KY (1926-2014)


He was born on Thursday, January 7, 1926 in Russell County, KY. He died July 3, 2014, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 26 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mina Thomas Hadley on April 30, 2011 also preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Stewart on February 3, 2000 and an infant son William Dale Hadley.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Sheldon Hadley of Jamestown, KY and Stephen Hadley of Columbia, KY.

  • One daughter: Shirley Burton: of Russell Springs, KY

  • Grandson: Timothy Kelley of Glensfork, KY

  • Several brothers and sisters

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Eighteen great grandchildren

  • Nine step great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was a farmer.
