Mrs. Ruth Hagan Fletcher, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2014)

She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Cumberland County at the time of her death. She was a member of a highly regarded family with deep roots in Cumberland, Metcalfe and Adair Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere. She was the widow of the C.W. Fletcher. She leaves 9 direct living descendants. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church and the White Hill Community Church. She was a seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing Corporation and a homemaker.

Mrs. Ruth Hagan Fletcher, age 79, of the Big Renox Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Funeral services for Ruth Hagan Fletcher will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Paul Patton and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial will be in the White Hill Cemetery in Cumberland County near Breeding, KY. The family will receive friends after 2pmCT on Friday, June 6, 2014 until the funeral hour on Saturday.



Mrs. Ruth Hagan Fletcher, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2014)

She was born in the Cofer Community of Metcalfe County, KY on Friday, July 20, 1934. She was the daughter of Ramie and Amy Jessie Hagan. She died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in the Big Renox Community of Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 15 days.

She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church and the White Hill Community Church. She was a seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing Corporation and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Fletcher, whom she married on Wednesday, October 11, 1950, her daughters Donna Gail Fletcher and Carolyn Hoots; her brothers, Fred Hagan and Kenneth Hagan; her sister, Arminda Fudge and her son-in-law, Ronnie Hoots.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her daughters and sons-in-law: Rita and Freddie Akin of Burkesville, Kentucky and Beverly and Don McClard of Glasgow, Kentucky

  • Her grandchildren: Jerrod and Cheryl Akin, Diane Akin, Shana and Timmy Turner

  • Her great-grandchildren: Michelle Wray and Spincer Wray.
