Injury collision on E 80 necessitates traffic rerouting

Adair Sheriff's Deputies BJ Bray and Adam Cravens responded to a two vehicle collision five miles down East KY 80 on Friday, May 30, 2014.

The accident is believed to have occurred after Ashley Crawhorn, 20, of Columbia crossed the yellow line into opposing traffic in her 2006 Chevy Cobalt before meeting and colliding with a garbage truck being driven by Chester Taylor, 59 also of Columbia, KY.



Crawhorn was transported from the scene by Adair EMS to Westlake for possible injuries.

Taylor went privately to Russell County Hospital to be checked out.

Traffic was rerouted for over two hours while wreckers and the the road department worked to get the roadway clear.

Deputy Adam Cravens is investigating the collision.

Columbia Police Officer Drew Conn also assisted at the scene. --Deputy Adam Cravens
