She was a native of Casey County and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Asa Ray and Florence Ethel Derringer Patton. She leaves 24 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and member of the Valley Oak Baptist Church.

Joyce Ware of Casey County, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was 78.

Funeral services are 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Valley Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating. Ms. Joyce will be laid to rest in Valley Oak Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 10amCT/11amET, until funeral service at the church.

Born Wednesday, September 18, 1935 in Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Asa Ray and Florence Ethel Derringer Patton. She died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 10 days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Valley Oak Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by husbands, Raphael Ware and Hershel Corhn; son, Ronnie Ware; granddaughter, Mariah Cashen; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four daughters: Carolyn Goforth of Yosemite, KY; Diana Parton of Greensburg, KY; Donna Wihebrink of Union, KY, and Deborah Ware of Burlington, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Seven great-grandchildren

  • And two sisters: Ruby Simpson of Liberty, KY; and Marlene Simpson of Cincinnati. Ohio
